corruption makes sense

for some

The problem about corruption is that it makes sense in the moment, the act to corrupt.

There is a choice, there is benefits, there is risks, the actor tries to find a balance,

and sadly often the optimal choice is to corrupt.

Nobody is going to notice... ( right )

respectively, i'll make up for it later... ( sure ).

.

There helps only one solution : elevating these countries out of poverty,

so that the sense in life changes from surviving to living

and such a good conscious and risk free life

become more attractive.

.

Mass surveillance for instance can favour corruption,

as it is exactly what is needed for a criminal group or actor :

an official with access to private data,

such as identifications, geolocation, private media or relations.

An official without access to such data can't be corrupted,

therefore it's important to not even collect such data centrally,

respectively to keep them in private hands.

The exception confirms the rule,

that the citizen doesn't need to be surveilled.

Control is enough.

For instance, it is sufficient in Switzerland to stipulate five years prison

for an employee offending Helvetic banking secrecy

to guarantee a fair amount of privacy.

Same strict punishment can apply

for offending secrecy of private data

by big- and small-tech employees.

.

Furthermore laws should be unequivocal in their interpretation

not allowing the official to levy further commissions

and not recording them.

Laws and regulations should be clear

detailed when necessary

and they shouldn't change each month

but mostly every four years

Good regulation last for decades.

Indeed, there must be constructed a certain reliability of the government

in how it handles state matters and the public affairs with its citizens.

Thus freedoms should be given to the people and not interdictions

which they will only break with the risk of getting caught

and if those interdictions go in hand with demesurate prison sentences

then the temptation to pay a substantial sum to the officer is real.

While if the people can enjoy sinful freedoms such as consuming drugs, sex or alcohol,

if a responsible use of substance is promoted and not a corrupt state of persecution

then as well can it be reduced : lethal corruption.

.

Which is not to say i'm against policing, no,

i think the presence of the police is very important to prevent crimes

to protect the population of the doings of violent groups

that would only like to find the opportunity to extort a parent or a business owner.

But that policing shouldn't come in the form of mass surveillance

but rather in the form of intelligent presence

able to stop violent outbreaks of vanity in time.

It shouldn't make sense to try to corrupt.

The temptation should always be to try it honestly :

to succeed on honest terms.

Because what kind of climbing the ladder is it, when it is the result of corruption?

Don't you only climb in an environment that is corrupt as well?

Don't you help your society turning totalitarian rather?

So what good is your rise, when you'll lose it all to a bigger fish?

Yes, you can be sure when you cash in dollars for illegitimate or illegal services delivered,

you helped a lot a delusional politician respectively head of a mafia in becoming dictator

who you will want to serve or die pathetically.

You're not as happy with your corrupt success as if earned on honest terms in a free democracy!
